POE Dow‑DuPont 8450

POE Dow‑DuPont 8450

POE Dow‑DuPont 8450 is an elastomer with high flowability and good compatibility with polyolefins. It is especially suitable for applications requiring improved material toughness and processing flowability.

Main Applications

Polymer Modification: Mainly used for toughening polypropylene (PP) to improve its room‑temperature and low‑temperature impact resistance. It is widely applied in automotive bumpers, automobile door panels, home appliance housings and other products.

Wires and Cables: Thanks to its favorable flexibility, low‑temperature resistance and certain electrical insulation performance, it is suitable for insulation layers and sheaths of wires and cables.

General‑purpose Thermoplastic Elastomers: Processable via extrusion, compound molding and other technologies to produce various industrial and consumer goods.

Processing Methods

Suitable for multiple processing technologies including extrusion, injection molding and compound molding.

Drying Treatment: Drying may be required if the package is damaged and the material is exposed to air. Refer to the official technical data sheet for specific drying parameters (temperature and duration), as such information is not specified herein.

Extrusion: The high flowability of grade 8450 makes it well‑suited for extrusion processes. For wire‑and‑cable sheath applications, it can flow smoothly through dies during extrusion to form uniform and smooth surfaces.

Injection Molding: Grade 8450 is also applicable for injection‑molding applications. Its high flowability helps boost production efficiency and improve filler dispersion.

Blending Modification: When blended with base resins such as PP and PE, POE 8450 can eliminate complicated granulation or pre‑mixing procedures required for conventional elastomers, and achieves superior mixing and dispersion performance.
